What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive Technology (AT) refers to any device, software, or equipment that helps students with disabilities overcome barriers to learning and participation. From low-tech tools like pencil grips and visual schedules to high-tech solutions like AAC devices and text-to-speech software, AT can transform a student's ability to access their educational environment. Our AT specialists hold advanced certifications in assistive technology and bring expertise in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), computer access, and learning tools for students with a wide range of disabilities. We provide comprehensive AT assessments, device trials, implementation support, and training for students and school teams. STS AT services are available in school settings across Southern California.
The right tools unlock limitless potential.
